Judgement Scoring Explained
Understand how Judgement awards points for exact bids and what happens when you miss.
Judgement Scoring Explained
TL;DR
- Hit your bid and score
11 * prediction + 10; miss and the round is worth 0. - Double Points doubles your next scoring rounds, locks your bid for 3 rounds, and turns misses into -15.
- Round 6 grants a 1.5x Special Power to high performers; combined with Double Points it peaks at 3x.
- The scoreboard autop-adjusts locked predictions that exceed the current hand size.
Winning at Judgement is all about planning your prediction, surviving the trick-play, and understanding exactly how the server tallies the results. The current scoring engine applies a single formula: nail your bid and you earn a fixed reward; miss and you walk away with nothing for that round. This guide walks through the numbers the leaderboard uses so you can read every recap screen with confidence.
Scoring building blocks
Judgement scoring has two possible outcomes at the end of each round.
| Outcome | When it applies | Formula | Example result |
|---|---|---|---|
| Exact match | Tricks won equals your prediction | 11 * prediction + 10 | Call 2, win 2 → 11 * 2 + 10 = 32 points |
| Missed prediction | Tricks won differs from prediction | 0 | Call 3, win 1 → 0 points for the round |
Tip: Calling zero and hitting it still pays out.
11 * 0 + 10equals 10 points, so disciplined zero bids remain a powerful tool.
Scoring modifiers
- Double Points: Activating the power doubles the score of every future round until it expires and locks your bid for the next 3 rounds. The lock applies starting with the next prediction you make, never the one you already submitted. If you miss while Double Points is active, the round is -15 instead of 0. Your locked bid auto-adjusts downward if the hand size shrinks below the stored value. The UI shows a "Double Points Active" badge beside your name while it runs.
- Special Power (1.5x): At the end of round 7 the game tags players who posted a positive round. Those players earn a 1.5x multiplier the next time round 6 rolls around, then the flag clears automatically. Any player without the flag scores normally.
- Combined bonus (3x): A player who brings an active Double Points lock into their Special Power round will see both multipliers stack for a 3x payout on hits.

Scenario 1: Perfect predictions in Round 3
Four friends -- Alex, Priya, Jordan, and Mei -- sit down for Round 3 (three tricks available). Everyone hits their call.
| Player | Prediction | Tricks won | Outcome | Round score | Running total |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Alex | 1 | 1 | Hit | 21 | 21 |
| Priya | 1 | 1 | Hit | 21 | 21 |
| Jordan | 0 | 0 | Hit | 10 | 10 |
| Mei | 1 | 1 | Hit | 21 | 21 |
- Exact predictions pay fast: Matching your call instantly drops
11 * prediction + 10onto your total. Alex, Priya, and Mei each bank 21. - Zero calls stay valuable: Jordan's zero bid still earns 10, keeping him in reach despite a lighter hand.
- Leaderboard impact: After one flawless round, the table already shows meaningful separation -- especially between zero bids and positive predictions.
Scenario 2: Overbids sting in Round 5
Five tricks are on offer in Round 5. Two players stretch beyond what their hands can support.
| Player | Prediction | Tricks won | Outcome | Round score | Running total |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Alex | 3 | 1 | Miss | 0 | 21 |
| Priya | 1 | 2 | Miss | 0 | 21 |
| Jordan | 0 | 1 | Miss | 0 | 10 |
| Mei | 1 | 1 | Hit | 21 | 42 |
- Misses wipe the slate: Alex, Priya, and Jordan earn nothing for the round. The earlier totals remain unchanged, but they lose ground to anyone who scores.
- Consistency snowballs: Mei repeats her perfect bid and jumps to 42, doubling the closest rival's total in just two rounds.
- Adjust your mindset: Without penalties, the cost of missing is the opportunity lost -- opponents who keep hitting bids will sprint ahead.
Scenario 3: Clawing back with conservative bids
Round 7 brings seven tricks and a scoreboard of Mei 42, Alex 21, Priya 21, Jordan 10. Alex dials in a controlled prediction while Priya pushes hard.
| Player | Prediction | Tricks won | Outcome | Round score | New total |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Alex | 2 | 2 | Hit | 32 | 53 |
| Priya | 3 | 4 | Miss | 0 | 21 |
| Jordan | 1 | 1 | Hit | 21 | 31 |
| Mei | 1 | 0 | Miss | 0 | 42 |
- Precision creates swings: Alex's 32-point round rockets her into the lead after only three hands.
- Pressure on big bids: Priya's ambitious contract yields zero, illustrating how fragile large predictions can be without the right support cards.
- Momentum shifts fast: Jordan's steady 21 points puts him back in contention, showing how a single hit can erase an earlier miss.
Scenario 4: Double Points swing
Two rounds later, Alex triggers Double Points before bidding and carries it into the next hand.
| Player | Prediction | Tricks won | Powers active | Outcome | Round score | New total |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Alex | 2 | 2 | Double Points (x2) | Hit | 64 | 117 |
| Priya | 2 | 1 | None | Miss | 0 | 21 |
| Jordan | 1 | 1 | None | Hit | 21 | 52 |
| Mei | 1 | 2 | None | Miss | 0 | 42 |
- Activation timing: Alex taps Double Points between rounds, so it applies to her next prediction (this one). The button would not have affected the prediction she already locked earlier.
- Score math: Alex's 2-trick hit scores
(11 * 2 + 10) * 2 = 64points. Everyone else settles for their regular totals. - Lock reminder: Alex's prediction is now fixed for the next two rounds. If the hand size drops below 2, the server will clamp her stored bid to the legal max.
When a Double Points miss happens
If Alex had missed while Double Points was active, she would have taken -15 for the round (instead of 0). The penalty does not multiply; it is always a flat -15.
Special Power in round 6
During round 6 the scoreboard highlights any player marked as "Special Power Holder". A successful 2-trick call displays as (11 * 2 + 10) * 1.5 = 48. Bringing Double Points into that same round yields (11 * 2 + 10) * 3 = 96.
UI cues to watch
- Double Points toggle: Located in the action tray between rounds; the badge "Double Points Active" pulses beside your name while the lock lasts.
- Locked prediction banner: A toast confirms "Prediction locked for 3 rounds" immediately after activation.
- Round recap ribbon: Displays the raw math (e.g.,
32 * 2) plus any -15 penalty when you miss. - Special Power icon: Appears beside your name during round 6 when the 1.5x boost is live.
