Blind Modes Explained
Master Blind Prediction and Blind Tricks to sharpen memory and bidding discipline in Judgement.
Blind Modes Explained
TL;DR
- Blind Prediction hides other players' bids during the prediction phase; you still see your own number.
- Blind Tricks shows your card immediately but keeps opponents' cards face down until the trick finishes.
- Both switches live in the Create Room → Game Settings section and apply to the entire game.
- No extra badges or recap notes appear—watch the scoreboard and trick pile for the only cues.
Why play blind
Blind modes force you to trust your card counting and table awareness. By removing instant feedback, you learn to pace your winners, remember trump, and project round totals without leaning on UI reminders.
How the toggles behave
Only the host sees the Blind Prediction and Blind Tricks switches, and only while setting up a table. Open Create Room, scroll to Game Settings, and flip the switches before starting the game. The room code stores the choice (for example, rooms ending in BP or BT), so every player who joins inherits the active modes.
| Mode | What players experience | When it applies |
|---|---|---|
| Blind Prediction | During the bidding phase you see your own number, while every other seat shows ** until the last prediction locks in. Once play begins, all bids become visible again. | The entire game, starting with the first prediction round after the lobby |
| Blind Tricks | While a trick is in progress you only see your own card face up; everyone else's card backs flip over once the trick resolves. | Every trick for the whole game |
Important timing rules
- Because switches only exist in the Create Room dialog, plan blind sessions before you press Start Game.
- If your locked prediction exceeds the hand size in a later round, the server auto-adjusts the stored bid downward before the blind round begins.
- To turn a mode off, leave the room or create a new one and flip the switch before launching the next game.
Practice drills
- Solo memory test: Enable Blind Tricks, play with a Noble Gas Bot, and recap the tricks out loud before the banner appears.
- Conservative streak: Toggle Blind Prediction and aim for a run of five exact zero bids to cement risk control.
- Combo challenge: Activate Blind Prediction and Double Points together to test whether your mental math holds under pressure.
UI cues
Blind modes avoid extra flourishes. You will not see blindfold icons, recap reminders, or toasts. Rely on two in-game signals instead:
- Prediction table:
**placeholders mean blind prediction is live for opponents. - Trick pile: Card backs on opponents' plays mean blind tricks is in effect.
Try it now
Start a private lobby, toggle Blind Prediction, and commit to a bid without peeking at the tracker. Once the trick phase begins, confirm that every bid reappears so you can track totals manually.
