Host Guide: Running a Judgement Table
Learn how to create rooms, enforce bidding rules, and manage powers for smooth Judgement sessions.
Host Guide: Running a Judgement Table
TL;DR
- Create a private or public room from the lobby; you control when the game starts and ends.
- Enforce the last-player rule: the final bid can never make the table total equal the tricks available.
- Powers (Double Points, Blind modes) can be toggled between rounds; they never retroactively affect the current bid.
- Use recap banners and the latency HUD to keep everyone aligned.
Room setup checklist
| Step | Action | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Create a room and share the code or invite link. | Hosts join first to control pacing. |
| 2 | Choose the starting dealer and confirm hand ladder. | The game increases card counts until dealing evenly is impossible, then counts back down. |
| 3 | Brief the table on the last-player rule and powers. | Prevents accidental invalid bids and surprises when powers trigger. |
| 4 | Start the game once everyone confirms they are ready. | The host's Start button locks the lineup. |
Enforcing the last-player rule
When the dealer is about to bid, the sum of all predictions so far may equal the number of tricks in the round. If the dealer's bid would make the total match, the server rejects it and surfaces a toast. Encourage the dealer to adjust up or down to keep the total off balance.
Sample dialogue
"We have four tricks this round and the table total is already three. Dealer, you cannot call one; pick zero or two instead."
Managing powers and modes
- Double Points: Advise players to activate it between rounds only if they are ready for the 3-round lock and the -15 miss penalty. Remind them that a new game clears the lock.
- Blind Prediction and Blind Tricks: Set them in the Create Room dialog before you launch the table. Because there is no in-game toggle, brief the table ahead of time if you plan to play blind.
- Special Power: Round 6 automatically highlights the players with the 1.5x boost. Hosts do not need to toggle anything, but you can point it out before bidding begins.
Hide everyone’s bid count next round to encourage instinctive calls.
Keeping the table flowing
- Use the recap banner to review scores; it explains every multiplier and penalty in plain text.
- Watch the latency widget (bottom left) if someone lags; politely pause until they reconnect.
- Kick or replace idle seats with Noble Gas Bots to keep the ladder moving.
Try it now
Host a quick two-player table with one Noble Gas Bot. Practice prompting the last bidder to avoid the trick total, then toggle Double Points to see how the lock behaves under your supervision.
